How do I vote absentee?
If you are registered to vote in West Hartford you can vote absentee if: you are unable to appear at the polling place on election day due to active military service, absence from town during the hours of voting, illness, physical disability, religion forbidding secular activity on that day, or required performance of duties as a primary, referendum or election official.

To do this, you can go to the Registrar of Voters Office in room 209 of the West Hartford Town Hall and submit an application for an absentee ballot. You can also download the form from the State of Connecticut Secretary of the State Web site. You will have to fill out the form and bring it in person to the Registrar of Voters office.

You can obtain an absentee ballot for your child away at college. Your child will need to fill out the application and sign it, indicating that s/he is designating you to deliver the application to the Town Hall on his/her behalf.
